Ensemble Resonance based in Alberta, Canada, is Calgary's oldest  professional chamber ensemble performing music of the 20th and 21st centuries. Founded in 1996, by composers Hope Lee and David Eagle to present a multi media concert entitled One Thousand Curves, Ten Thousand Colours, the ensemble (ER) is  dedicated to performing new works which integrate acoustic and electroacoustic music with multi media elements.Specializing in Canadian contemporary repertoire, ER also programs works by internationally renowned composers such as Messiaen, Cage, Penderecki, Schoenberg and Gubaidulina.

Comprised of voice, violin, clarinet/bass clarinet and piano, all are accomplished chamber musicians with a broad range of international performing expertise as soloists and master class teachers.  To celebrate their 15th anniversary they released a critically acclaimed CD, Electrospectives which was nominated for Best Classical Recording in the 2011 Western Canadian Music Awards. 
In addition to regular performances for New Works Calgary Concert series, ER has presented new music to enthusiastic audiences including Canadian Music Centre Toronto, Arts and Letters Club Toronto, NUMUS University of Waterloo, Vancouver New Music Concert Series, Edmonton Composers Society, Banff Centre Noon-hour Series, Universities of Lethbridge and Red Deer and Ensemble-in-Residence in 2001 and 2002 at the Cantai Festival in Taipei, performing new works from Canada and Taiwan.

ER has collaborated on numerous occasions both nationally and internationally to present performances of multimedia concerts inviting painters, writers, dancers and other chamber ensembles to join in special programs. Ensemble Resonance also offer insightful master classes and workshops to encourage emerging composers and performers.

Dedicated to introducing audiences to new music, their performances have been featured on CBC Two New Hours, CBC Alberta in Concert, CKUA, CBC TV, Radio Taiwan and more.
